What Social Platforms Should My Business Be On?

If you’re trying to figure out which social media platforms are right for you and your business, then this blog is for you.

First of all, I suggest starting with 1-2 platforms to start. Get comfortable with those before taking on more social platforms.

The best way to choose a platform is to pick the platforms that:

1. Make the most sense and fit the needs for your products/services.

2. Makes sense for your work-load and/or team.

3. You <<mostly>> enjoy it.

Social Platform Choices:

  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • TikTok
  • LinkedIn
  • Pinterest
  • Blogging
  • Podcast
  • Twitter

If your product is visually appealing or can be:

  • Instagram
  • YouTube
  • TikTok
  • Pinterest

If you are a value-based business (i.e. sharing advice, giving tips), or have great writing skills you should take advantage of a long-form platform:

  • YouTube
  • Blogging
  • Podcast
  • LinkedIn

If you are a product-based business/retail:

  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • Pinterest

If you have a community, I recommend platforms that you can grow with them:

  • Facebook groups
  • Pinterest
  • Podcast

If you are B2B (business to business):

  • LinkedIn
  • Podcast

If you aren’t comfortable with being in front of the camera and/or creating video content, cross off TikTok and YouTube. Also, I personally do not use Twitter. I know a bit about it but ehh…

If this STILL doesn’t help, then it’s time to call a social media marketer to help you. Spending quality time on something that doesn’t fill your cup is a waste of time. You can email us today at [email protected].
